Privacy Policy
How we handle the information you send us. Last updated: 31 October 2026.
Who we are
BD Genomes ("we", "us") arranges DNA and RNA sequencing for researchers and laboratories in Bangladesh. You can reach us about privacy at [email protected] or on WhatsApp at +880 1308-222824.
What we collect
- Quote and contact forms: your name, institution, email, phone or WhatsApp number, and the project details you enter, such as service, number of samples, organism, sample type, dates and comments.
- Sample sheets: the file you attach, which usually lists sample IDs and sample details.
- Messages: what you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Orders and payments: quotation, invoice and payment records, such as the payment method and transaction reference. We do not see or store your card or mobile-banking PIN or password.
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps short technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and prepare your quotation.
- To process your samples, arrange sequencing and deliver your data and report.
- To send invoices and keep the financial records we are required to keep.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising. We only contact you about your enquiries and projects, unless you ask us to keep you updated about new services.
Where your form data goes
When you send a form, your details are saved in a private BD Genomes spreadsheet, and any attached sample sheet is saved in a private BD Genomes folder. Both are stored with Google (Google Sheets and Google Drive). Our team gets an email notification, and you receive a copy of your request by email. Only BD Genomes staff who handle orders can open these records.
Who we share it with
- Sequencing partners: our partner laboratories (Novogene, Beijing, China for NGS, Macrogen, Korea for human exome sequencing, and GeneCreate, China for Sanger sequencing and primer synthesis) receive your samples with sample IDs and the technical details needed to process them. We do not send them your contact details unless needed for your project.
- Service providers: Google (email, spreadsheet and file storage), Cloudflare (website hosting), and couriers and banks or mobile-banking providers when you ship samples or pay.
- Authorities: only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become orders: deleted after 3 months.
- Order, invoice and payment records: kept for 2 years for accounting and tax.
- Sequencing data and reports: kept for 6 months after delivery, then deleted. Please download and back up your data as soon as you receive it.
- Leftover samples: kept for 3 months after data delivery, then disposed of safely, unless you ask us to return them before then.
Human samples and health information
For human samples, please send coded, de-identified samples and sample sheets. Do not include patient names, national ID numbers or other information that identifies a person. See our Terms of Service for consent and ethics requirements.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, unless we must keep it by law (for example, invoices). Email [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days.
Security
Our website uses HTTPS. Order records and files are stored in password-protected accounts that only our team can open. No system is completely secure, so please do not send information we have not asked for.
