Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you order a service from BD Genomes. Last updated: 31 October 2026.
1. Quotations and orders
- Prices on this website and the instant estimate on the quote form are a guide. Your written quotation confirms the final price, analysis and turnaround.
- A quotation is valid for 30 days. An order starts when you approve the quotation in writing (email or WhatsApp).
- Prices are in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) and exclude VAT and tax unless stated.
2. Samples
- Please do not send samples until you have approved the quotation.
- Samples must meet the requirements for your service (amount, concentration, purity, volume and packing) shown on the service page and in your quotation.
- Label every tube clearly with the same sample ID as in your sample sheet.
- You are responsible for any permits needed to collect your samples and to send them for sequencing, including sequencing abroad at our partner laboratories.
- We do not accept samples that are infectious or hazardous unless they have been made safe and we have agreed in writing.
3. Quality control (QC) and failed samples
- Every sample is checked for quantity and quality before sequencing. We send you the QC result.
- If a sample fails QC, we contact you before going further. You can: (a) send a new sample, (b) go ahead with the failed sample at your own risk, with no guarantee of data quality or quantity, or (c) cancel that sample.
- RNA sequencing: if a sample fails QC, repeat RNA extraction and cDNA synthesis cost BDT 5,000 extra per sample.
- For all other services, there is no charge for a sample that fails QC.
- If a sample passes QC but sequencing fails for reasons on our or our partner's side, we repeat the sequencing at no extra cost.
4. Turnaround time
- For NGS services (whole genome, exome, RNA-Seq, metagenomics and microbiome), turnaround is counted in working days from the day your samples pass QC, not from the day you send them.
- For Sanger sequencing and identification, turnaround is counted from the date your samples are dispatched to our partner laboratory.
- For primer synthesis, delivery follows our schedule of 2–3 shipments a month. Orders over 500 nucleotides can be delivered in about 7 days.
- Turnaround times are estimates. Customs, courier delays, public holidays or re-sequencing can add time. We tell you if your project is delayed.
5. Payment
- No advance payment. Pay within one week after you receive and check your data.
- You can pay by bank transfer, bKash, Rocket, Nagad or cheque, as shown on How to order.
6. Cancellation
You can cancel free of charge before your samples are shipped to the partner laboratory. If you change or cancel a project after that, you pay for all services performed up to that point, including logistics, quality control, library construction and sequencing.
7. Data delivery and retention
- We deliver data and reports by email or a download link. Please download your data and keep your own backup as soon as you receive it.
- We keep your data for 6 months after delivery. After that it is deleted and cannot be recovered.
- Leftover samples are kept for 3 months after data delivery, then disposed of safely, unless you ask us to return them (return shipping at your cost).
- Your data and results belong to you. We do not publish or share them, except with our sequencing partners as needed to do the work.
8. Human samples: ethics and consent
- Before sending human samples, you confirm that the study has ethics approval from an appropriate committee (for example your institution's ethics review board or the Bangladesh Medical Research Council) and that every donor has given informed consent for genetic analysis, including sequencing abroad.
- Samples and sample sheets must be coded and de-identified. Do not include names, national ID numbers or other identifying information.
- We may ask for a copy of the ethics approval before we accept the samples.
- Our services are for research only. They are not a medical or diagnostic test, and results must not be used for clinical decisions.
9. Analysis and results
Bioinformatics analysis is included only where stated in your quotation. Results depend on the quality of the samples you send and on the reference databases available. Methods text on this website may be adapted for your thesis or paper; please check it matches the analyses delivered for your project.
10. Liability
We take care with every sample, but we are not responsible for samples lost or damaged by couriers or customs, or for delays outside our control. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
11. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
