PCR product sequencing (Sanger)

BDT 700 per reaction

Both directions: BDT 1,400 per sample. Bulk price for more than 300 PCR products.

Turnaround: 8–10 days after shipment

  • Unpurified PCR product: 10–20 ng/µL, 20 µL per reaction (purified PCR products and plasmids also accepted)
  • Primer: 1 µL per sample, at least 10 µL in total. Universal primers (16S, ITS) are not needed
  • Reads of about 900–1,000 bp; results as FASTA + AB1 chromatogram files
  • Ship at room temperature, no ice needed

Bacteria identification: 16S rRNA sequencing

BDT 3,300 per isolate

16S rRNA = 16S ribosomal RNA gene, the standard DNA barcode for identifying bacteria. Bulk price for more than 20 isolates.

Turnaround: 2–3 weeks after shipment

  • For bacteria: pure culture, bacterial pellet, extracted genomic DNA or PCR product
  • Near full-length 16S gene (about 1,500 bp), sequenced in both directions with our universal primers
  • Results as FASTA + AB1 chromatogram files

Analysis: Free for 30 or more samples ordered together: quality check, consensus sequence, NCBI BLAST match, alignment and phylogenetic tree. Available for smaller orders at extra cost.

Turnaround: 8–10 days after shipment

  • For fungi and yeasts: pure fungal isolate or genomic DNA (at least 20 ng/µL, 20 µL; A260/280 1.6–1.8)
  • ITS region amplified with universal primers and sequenced in both directions

Frequently asked questions

Can you identify my bacteria from a culture plate?

Yes. Send a pure culture, extracted DNA or a PCR product, and we sequence the 16S rRNA gene and identify it.

Do I need to send my own primers?

No, not for 16S or ITS: universal primers are included. For other genes, send 1 µL of your primer per sample (at least 10 µL in total).

Do PCR products need to be shipped cold?

No. PCR products are stable for short trips at room temperature. Pack the tubes safely, for example in a cork sheet.

How do I receive the results?

By email: sequence files (FASTA and AB1) and, where included, an identification report.
